Riverside Art Museum

The city's main art museum occupies a beautiful 1929 building designed by Julia Morgan, the same architect responsible for Hearst Castle and a number of notable structures at UC Berkeley. The building itself is worth coming for: Morgan's signature blend of Mediterranean Revival and Arts and Crafts detailing makes the galleries a pleasure to move through. Changing exhibitions focus on California and American art, with a permanent collection that reflects the region's history and culture.
