Built in 1928 in opulent Spanish-Moorish style, the California Theatre is beautifully preserved inside and out. It serves as home to the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, the Inland Dance Theater, the San Bernardino Valley Concert Association, Sinfonia Mexicana, and Theater Arts International, which stages lavish productions.
Take note of the enormous outdoor mural on the east side of the building. Commissioned from renowned artist Kent Twitchell, it recalls Will Rogers' last stage performance, which took place at this very theater in 1935, just before his death in a plane crash in Alaska.
