Yucaipa Regional Park is the easiest day out in the city — a 200-acre county park on the northern edge of town, against the foothills, built around three small lakes stocked with rainbow trout and catfish. Swimming is allowed in a roped-off section of the largest lake during summer, and there is a separate water-play area with slides for younger children.
The rest of the park is the usual mix of picnic tables under live-oak shade, a fishing pier, a campground with sites for tents and RVs, and a paved walking loop around the lakes. A small day-use fee is charged at the gate; bring cash. It fills up on weekends in summer, so go early or come on a weekday for the best experience.
