Domaine Carneros

Sparkling wine producer in a chateau modelled on Taittinger's home in Reims

Domaine Carneros sits in the cool southern Carneros region between Napa and Sonoma, in a chateau-styled building modelled on Taittinger's eighteenth-century home in Champagne — the producer is in fact a Taittinger collaboration. The terrace overlooking the vineyards is one of the most photographed spots in the southern valley.

Tastings focus on traditional-method sparkling wines and Carneros pinot noir, both built around the cool maritime climate of the region. Booked tastings sit-down on the terrace; bringing a friend who isn't drinking gets you a better-stocked plate of charcuterie. About twenty minutes' drive from downtown Napa.
