Built in 1898 for the Comstock silver magnate Ralph Granger, the music hall was designed by a young Irving Gill — later one of the most influential architects of the American West — and was where Granger displayed his celebrated collection of Stradivarius violins. Granger employed his own chamber orchestra to play in the hall on Sunday afternoons for his guests.
The hall was moved from Granger's nearby estate to Heritage Square in 1983 and meticulously restored. The acoustically excellent interior is still used for concerts, weddings, and small events; the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
