Things to Do

National City's appeal sits in a compact strip of late-19th-century buildings between Heritage Square and the old waterfront. Most visitors come on a day trip from San Diego, ride the trolley down, and walk the four or five Victorian buildings in an hour or two. The Mile of Cars on National City Boulevard, a Ralph Lauren-style time capsule of 1950s American auto retailing, is the only other reason most tourists stop.
