Lake Casitas

Lake Casitas is the large reservoir west of Ojai, set among low hills and oak scrub. It is a good outdoor break from downtown, with open water, picnic areas, campgrounds, and reliable chances for birdlife.

The lake was used for rowing and canoeing during the 1984 Olympics. It is still best approached as a slow nature stop rather than a swimming beach.
