The oldest courthouse in Southern California still standing, completed in 1901 in red sandstone and granite Romanesque Revival style. It survived the 1933 Long Beach earthquake (the damaged cupola was removed as a precaution) and a near-demolition in the 1980s, and now houses a small museum of Orange County history. California Historical Landmark No. 837.
