Baker Beach sits in the Presidio just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, offering one of the most dramatic beach settings in the city. The views of the bridge from the sand are unforgettable. Picnic tables and barbecue pits near the north parking lot make it popular with locals on weekends.
The north end of the beach is clothing optional, so families typically stay toward the middle and south. Swimming is not recommended due to strong currents. By transit, take the 38 outbound on Market Street and transfer to the 29 northbound at 25th Avenue.
