El Polin Spring is a quiet Presidio stop where fresh water emerges at the head of a small riparian valley. The spring supplied the Spanish Presidio, and the sheltered valley later held Spanish and Mexican family homes.
Come for a short walk, a picnic, or a calmer break from the bridge and waterfront crowds. The surrounding meadows, woodland, and grassland make it most useful as part of a longer Presidio walk.
