Sts. Peter and Paul Church is a white neo-Gothic Catholic church facing Washington Square in North Beach. Its twin towers make it one of the neighborhood's best-known landmarks, especially when seen from the park.
The church is also tied to San Francisco popular history: Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe were photographed on its steps after their 1954 civil wedding at City Hall.
