Sutro Heights Park occupies the former estate grounds of Adolph Sutro, the businessman behind the Cliff House and Sutro Baths. The mansion is gone, but terraces, trees, and fragments of the old landscaped grounds remain above the ocean.
The park is most useful as part of a western San Francisco walk. From here you get strong views over the coastline, Ocean Beach, and Golden Gate Park, with the ruins of Sutro Baths and the Cliff House close by.
