A small state park on the banks of the Sacramento River just north of downtown Red Bluff, built around an adobe house that local historians date to the 1850s, though it is named for William B. Ide — the first and only president of the short-lived 1846 California Republic. The site has been reconstructed to suggest mid-19th-century ranch life, with the adobe, a carriage shed, blacksmith and smokehouse buildings, and shaded picnic grounds under valley oaks.
The grounds are a pleasant place to walk and picnic, with a stretch of riverbank, a small visitor centre, and interpretive panels. The Adobe Day festival in late August dresses the place up with reenactments. Open daily; small day-use fee.
