Spottswoode Estate Vineyard

A 40-acre estate vineyard on the west edge of town, founded as a winery in 1882 and revived by the Novak family in 1972. Spottswoode is one of the original Napa cult Cabernets — produced from a single walled vineyard within town limits — and one of the few in the valley to be certified organic and Biodynamic. The 1882 Victorian estate house and the gardens are unusually beautiful even by Napa standards.

Tastings are by appointment only and small in scale — a guided two-hour experience that includes a vineyard walk, garden tour, and seated tasting of current Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc releases. Expensive but a genuine alternative to the larger commercial tasting operations along Highway 29.
