Washington Street is the spine of Yountville: about a mile of restaurants, tasting rooms, art galleries, and small hotels, with the Napa Valley Wine Train running parallel just to the east. It is genuinely walkable end to end, which is unusual for a Napa town and the easiest argument for using Yountville as a base.
Most of the village's restaurants and tasting rooms cluster between Mulberry Street and the Veterans Home gates. A leisurely afternoon working from north to south, picking off tasting rooms and pausing at galleries, is the prescribed mode of operation.
