Trail Ridge Road

Trail Ridge Road is the famous high drive across Rocky Mountain National Park, climbing from Estes Park over the Continental Divide toward Grand Lake. Much of the route runs above treeline, with tundra, big drop-offs, and views that make the road feel airborne.

It is seasonal, usually opening in late spring or early summer and closing again with autumn snow. Bring warm layers even when Estes Park is sunny; the top of the road is a different climate.
