River Run Village is the newer of Keystone's two base areas and the more active one. Built in the late 1990s and early 2000s in a deliberate mountain-village style, it clusters restaurants, rental shops, and ski school facilities around the gondola plaza at the base of Dercum Mountain. The gondola itself runs year-round — in summer it carries mountain bikers and hikers to the upper mountain.
The village has a pedestrian feel with lodging buildings arranged around a central plaza. An ice rink operates in winter at the gondola base and doubles as an events space. The architecture is deliberately old-Colorado in character: stone bases, timber frames, pitched roofs. It is designed for foot traffic and works well as a base for ski-in/ski-out access to Dercum.
Most of Keystone's newer accommodation is here, including slopeside condos within walking distance of the gondola. The restaurant and bar scene is compact but covers the basics, with options ranging from casual après-ski to sit-down dining.
