The main shopping strip along Manitou and Ruxton avenues is genuinely good for independent shops: galleries, artisan studios, jewellery, crystals and metaphysical goods, antiques, and the famous penny arcade. This is bohemian Colorado Springs — the counterculture to the conservative military city nearby — and the shops reflect that sensibility.
