Monument Lake is a small reservoir on the west side of town. The paved path around the water is just over a mile, mostly flat, and works for an after-dinner stroll or a stroller-friendly outing with kids. Mountain views to the west are good in the late afternoon when the sun catches the Rampart Range.
The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and gets a fair amount of catch-and-release fishing from the bank. Swimming and motorboats are not allowed, but you'll see paddleboards and kayaks on warm summer evenings. The grass strip on the east side has picnic tables and a small playground.
