Heirloom

Heirloom occupies a converted 1899 Victorian house on Second Street and is the town's flagship farm-to-table restaurant. The menu changes with the seasons but typically runs to ten or so plates: a few dishes built around what local farmers and fishermen brought in that morning, a careful wine list, and desserts that the chef actually thought about. It is not cheap — entrees run $30–40 — but it is one of the best meals on the Delaware coast.

Tables on the wraparound porch are the ones to ask for in summer; the dining room is small enough that booking a week ahead in season is wise.
