Getting Around

A car is the default way to get around Clearwater, but on the beach strip itself you can manage without one. The Jolley Trolley runs a coastal route from Clearwater Beach south to Sand Key and north through Island Estates, plus a downtown route connecting the beach to mainland Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, and Tarpon Springs. Fares are a few dollars per ride, and an all-day pass is good value if you plan to hop on and off.

Beach Walk, the paved promenade along Clearwater Beach, makes walking between hotels, restaurants, and Pier 60 easy. Bike rentals are available at several shops near the beach and along the Pinellas Trail. Ride-sharing services operate throughout the area. Parking on the beach is metered and fills fast on weekends — the municipal garage at Clearwater Beach is the most reliable option. Downtown Clearwater has free and metered street parking with less competition for spots.
