Arcadia Mill is a quiet archaeological site that explains the early industrial history of the Blackwater River area. Sawmills, a textile factory, a log flume, and a railroad once worked here before the complex was abandoned in the 1850s.
Today a small museum and boardwalk trace the old dams, flumes, and mill remains. It is a good counterpoint to the river trips: the same landscape, seen through work rather than recreation.
