Lake Tarpon

Lake Tarpon is a large freshwater lake on Palm Harbor's inland side, popular for boating, bass fishing, and quiet paddling away from the Gulf beaches. It gives north Pinellas a different kind of water day: cypress edges, boat ramps, and birds rather than sand and surf.

Visitors usually access the lake through county parks and marinas rather than a single grand viewpoint. Go early in the day for calmer water and better bird activity, and watch summer thunderstorms carefully if you are out in a small boat.
