Cape Canaveral

Space Coast beach city beside Port Canaveral, launch history, cruise docks, and Atlantic parks.

Cape Canaveral is the working, salty side of Florida's Space Coast. Cruise ships leave from Port Canaveral, rockets rise from the launch complexes to the north, and beach parks sit between condo blocks and the Atlantic.

The name carries a lot of space history, but the city itself is more practical than glamorous. It makes sense if you are boarding a cruise, watching a launch, visiting Cocoa Beach, or using the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum tours to get closer to the old pads and lighthouse.

For a short stay, split your time between the beach, Jetty Park, and the space history stops. Kennedy Space Center is nearby, but Cape Canaveral has its own rhythm of fishing boats, cruise traffic, and launch-day crowds.
