Getting There

Tarpon Springs is about 45 kilometres northwest of Tampa and 55 kilometres north of St Petersburg. There is no practical public transport connection — a car is essential.

From Tampa, take the Suncoast Expressway (SR-589) north to the US-19 exit, then south on US-19 to Tarpon Springs. The drive takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. From St Petersburg, head north on US-19 directly — roughly the same time.

Tampa International Airport is the closest major airport and is an easy drive. St Pete-Clearwater Airport is a convenient alternative for budget flights. From either airport, car rental is straightforward.

There is a small local bus service within the Tarpon Springs area, but it does not connect to Tampa or the wider metro network. Ridesharing (Uber/Lyft) works from within the town itself but arrival from outside by rideshare is expensive.
