Alpharetta City Center, opened in 2017, is the planned town green and surrounding mixed-use district that gave a recognisable centre to a suburb that had previously lacked one. A grassy plaza, a fountain, City Hall and the public library on one side, restaurants and shops on the others.
The plaza is the venue for the Alpharetta Farmers Market on Saturday mornings from spring to autumn — a serious food market with strong local produce. Concerts, food truck nights, and seasonal events fill the calendar. It is the most walkable corner of north Fulton County.
