The 1902 redbrick Classical Revival courthouse, on Courthouse Square in the centre of downtown. Domed cupola, white-stone trim, and the original civic dignity of a Georgia county seat. Worth a circuit of the square and a look inside the lobby, which retains its early 20th-century marble and brass.
The older 1869 Italianate courthouse, one block away on East Church Street, is now used for county offices; the two buildings together give a clear sense of the town's 19th-century growth.
