Cartersville's interest is concentrated downtown — a handsome courthouse square, the surprisingly large Booth Western Art Museum, and a Tellus science museum — plus the major archaeological complex at Etowah Indian Mounds a few miles south. Red Top Mountain State Park on Lake Allatoona, fifteen minutes east, is the best nearby outdoor option.
