The Big Chicken is Marietta's gloriously literal roadside landmark: a giant chicken-shaped KFC sign whose beak and eyes have watched over Cobb Parkway for decades. It is kitsch, wayfinding device, local joke, and civic icon all at once.
There is not much to do beyond look, photograph, and appreciate the absurdity, but that is enough. It is best as a quick stop while moving between Marietta Square, Kennesaw Mountain, and Atlanta's northern suburbs.
