A small wooden depot built in 1888 for the Seaboard Air Line Railway, used by the Carter campaign as its 1976 presidential headquarters. The interior has been preserved as it was during the campaign — desks with the original push-button telephones, mimeographed press releases, a campaign poster from the convention, and the volunteer schedule pinned to a corkboard.
Walking through takes ten minutes but is one of the more affecting small spaces in any presidential site — the entire successful campaign of a US President was run out of a building no larger than a railway waiting room. Free admission, open during park hours.
