Fort Hall Replica

Recreated fur-trade fort interpreting one of the Oregon Trail's important Snake River stops.

Fort Hall Replica recreates the 19th-century trading post that once stood on the Snake River plain. The site is compact, with log walls, period rooms, and displays about trappers, traders, emigrants, and Native communities who moved through the region.

It works best paired with the Bannock County Historical Museum next door. Neither is slick, but together they give Pocatello a historical anchor that is easy to miss if you only see the town from the interstate.

A story
The original Fort Hall became a decision point for emigrants heading west: Oregon-bound wagons continued along the Snake River, while California-bound parties faced the harsher southern route. The replica is small, but it points to a much larger geography of migration and trade.
