Pocatello sits on Interstate 15 and Interstate 86, about two and a half hours north of Salt Lake City and three hours southeast of Boise. The small regional airport has limited service, so many travellers arrive by car.
The city is a logical stop on road trips between Utah, eastern Idaho, Yellowstone, and the Tetons. In winter, check highway conditions before crossing the higher passes east of town.
