Teton Valley

Eastern Idaho mountain valley facing the Tetons, quieter and cheaper than nearby Jackson Hole.

Teton Valley lies on the western slope of the Teton Range in eastern Idaho, just across the mountains from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The valley floor is broad and agricultural, with the dramatic peaks of the Tetons rising abruptly to the east. It is quieter and considerably cheaper than Jackson Hole, and many visitors use it as a base for exploring Grand Teton National Park.

The main towns are Driggs, the valley's commercial centre, and Victor, at the southern end. Driggs has basic services and a small ski area at Grand Targhee, which gets spectacular deep powder snow and is far less crowded than the resorts on the Wyoming side. In summer, cycling, hiking, and fishing are the main draws. The Teton Scenic Byway connects Teton Valley to Jackson via Teton Pass.
