Victor

Teton Valley town at the foot of Teton Pass, with ranch roots and Grand Teton views

Victor sits at the southern end of Teton Valley, right where the road begins its climb over Teton Pass into Wyoming. For years it was the quieter, less commercial alternative to Driggs — a place where ranchers and ski bums coexisted without much fuss.

That is changing. As Jackson Hole prices have pushed more people over the pass looking for affordable housing, Victor has grown steadily. New restaurants and shops have appeared along Main Street, and the town has developed a personality of its own rather than just being a place to sleep before skiing. The Grand Teton views from the valley floor are stunning, and the backcountry access on the western slope remains far less crowded than anything on the Jackson side.

Getting There

Victor is 13 kilometres south of Driggs on US-33, and about 48 kilometres from Jackson, Wyoming, over Teton Pass. The drive from Jackson takes about 45 minutes in good conditions; allow longer in winter when the pass can be slow or temporarily closed.

The nearest commercial airport is Jackson Hole Airport in Wyoming (JAC), which has direct flights to major US hubs. Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA), about 90 minutes west, offers more affordable options with connections through Salt Lake City.

There is no public transit to Victor. A car is essential.

Things to Do

Victor is a small town, and the main draws are either in or near it: the railroad depot, the views of the Teton Range from the valley floor, and the backcountry skiing and biking access from Teton Pass. The town itself has a few galleries and outdoor outfitters along Main Street, and the recent growth has brought several good restaurants that serve the outdoor crowd. Use the filters below to browse.
