Twin Falls Idaho Temple

The Twin Falls Idaho Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sits on the canyon rim south of the Snake River, a gleaming white granite building with a single spire that is visible from considerable distance. It was dedicated in 2008 and serves the substantial LDS community of southern Idaho's Magic Valley. The temple grounds are open to the public, though the interior is restricted to members in good standing.

The setting on the canyon rim is striking — the temple gardens extend to the edge and you can see the Snake River Canyon stretching away to the east and west. It's an unusual juxtaposition, a formal religious building at the lip of a volcanic gorge. Even visitors with no religious interest often stop to walk the grounds and take in the canyon view.
