Getting There

The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) is the closest commercial airport, about 8 kilometres southwest of downtown. Flights connect to Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Dallas, and other hub cities; there are no international routes. Rental cars are the standard way to proceed from the airport.

By car, Cedar Rapids sits on Interstate 380, which connects to I-80 (the main east-west route across Iowa) about 30 kilometres south at Iowa City. Chicago is roughly five hours' drive east. Minneapolis is four hours north.

Greyhound serves Cedar Rapids on routes between Chicago and Omaha, but the bus station is not centrally located and service is infrequent.
