The Cedar Valley Nature Trail is the kind of rail-trail that makes Cedar Rapids more than an urban stop. It follows old railway corridors north out of the city, passing river edges, small towns, woodland patches, and open Iowa farmland.
You do not need to ride the whole thing for it to be worthwhile. Pick a manageable segment, check surface conditions after wet weather, and use it as a slow way to see the landscape beyond downtown and Czech Village.
