Eatery A is a wood-fired Mediterranean restaurant on the western edge of Ingersoll and one of the consistently best dinners in Des Moines. The menu runs Italian and Greek through North African — pizzas from the open hearth, lamb cooked over coals, mezze platters with house-made flatbread.
The dining room is wood-and-brick with the kitchen open to the floor; service is unhurried in the right way. Bar seating gets you a front-row view of the pizza ovens. Reservations recommended on weekends; lunch is a calmer way in.
