The Field of Dreams Movie Site preserves the baseball diamond, farmhouse setting, and cornfield backdrop used in the 1989 film. Even visitors who are not devoted baseball fans tend to recognize the image: a simple diamond cut into Iowa farmland, with rows of corn standing just beyond the outfield.
The site is about nostalgia and place rather than a long list of exhibits. You can walk onto the field, take photos, and, when events are not underway, play catch where the film was shot. It is an easy drive from Dubuque and works well as a short detour through the rolling farm country west of the city.
