Downtown Salina is walkable around Santa Fe Avenue, but the city as a whole is built for cars. You will need one for Rolling Hills Zoo, Lakewood Park, Indian Rock Park, and most restaurants outside the centre.
Parking is generally straightforward. The main practical decision is whether to stay downtown for the evening or near the interstate for a quick departure.
