Old Town is Wichita's easiest district to explore on foot after dark. Former warehouses and brick commercial blocks have been converted into restaurants, bars, galleries, apartments, and entertainment venues, giving the area a more compact urban feel than much of the surrounding city.
It is not a preserved historic quarter in the museum-piece sense; its value is as a living reuse district. Come for dinner, a show, or a walk between the Museum of World Treasures and the surrounding blocks, and it becomes one of the more practical anchors for a Wichita visit.
