Bossier City Municipal Building

The Municipal Building on Barksdale Boulevard has stood since 1926 — built when Bossier City was still small, ambitious, and trying to look the part. The two-storey red-brick structure has a classical revival façade with stone trim that feels disproportionate to the modest building behind it, which was the point.

It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and although it is still in civic use rather than a museum, it is worth a quick stop on a walk through downtown to see what Bossier City looked like before the casinos arrived.
