Bossier City is built on three things: the Red River casinos, the Louisiana Boardwalk, and Barksdale Air Force Base. Beyond that there is a small but real arts district on the east bank, the Eighth Air Force Museum at the base, and quiet nature at Cypress Black Bayou Park outside town.
