Boothbay Harbor's main draws are on the water — whale watching, puffin cruises, and sailing excursions depart from the town pier throughout summer. On shore, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the Burnt Island lighthouse tour are the two most distinctive activities. The harbor village itself is pleasant to walk through, with a footbridge connecting the two sides of the inner harbor.
