Whale Watching on Passamaquoddy Bay

The waters of the Bay of Fundy and Passamaquoddy Bay are among the richest feeding grounds on the Atlantic coast, and the whale watching from Eastport is exceptional. Summer tours regularly encounter finback and minke whales; humpbacks and the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale are also seen. Harbour porpoises, bald eagles, and Atlantic puffins add to the wildlife count. The same powerful tides that create Old Sow drive nutrient upwellings that make these waters so productive. Several operators run tours from the Eastport waterfront from June through September.
