Lily Bay State Park

Quiet lakeside state park nine miles up the eastern shore

A small state park on a wooded inlet of Moosehead, with two campgrounds, a sand-and-pebble swimming beach, and a 1.6-mile trail along the shore. There are boat ramps for trailered boats and a quiet cove for canoes and kayaks. The lake here is sheltered enough for good swimming on calm days, and the park is the standard base for paddlers exploring the southern third of Moosehead.

About 20 minutes north of Greenville Junction by car. Day-use fee in season; campsites book up months ahead for July and August.
