Getting There

By car. Cumberland sits on I-68, the main east-west route across western Maryland. It is roughly 2 hours from Baltimore (140 miles), 2.5 from Washington DC, and 2.5 from Pittsburgh.

By train. Amtrak's Capitol Limited stops at Cumberland once a day in each direction, running between Washington DC (3 hours) and Chicago (15 hours) via Pittsburgh. The station is in the centre of town.

By bus. Greyhound and Megabus serve Cumberland with daily connections to Baltimore, DC, and Pittsburgh.

By bicycle. Cumberland is the eastern terminus of the Great Allegheny Passage and the western terminus of the C&O Canal Towpath. The town is one of the most cyclist-friendly small towns in the country.

By air. Greater Cumberland Regional Airport (CBE) has limited general-aviation service. Pittsburgh (PIT) and Baltimore-Washington (BWI) are the nearest major airports.
