Miss Worcester Diner

Classic 1948 Worcester Lunch Car diner, still slinging hash on Southbridge St

Address 300 Southbridge St, Worcester, MA 01608

Miss Worcester is one of the last working diners built by the Worcester Lunch Car Company, the local manufacturer that produced the prefab rail-car-style diners that defined the American diner aesthetic for half the 20th century. Built in 1948 as car #812, it still serves classic short-order breakfasts and lunches across the street from where it was made.

The food is straight-down-the-line diner — eggs, hash, pancakes, burgers, hot turkey sandwiches. Cash only, narrow counter, vinyl stools. Open early; closes after lunch.
