Getting There

Ann Arbor is about 40 miles west of Detroit. The closest major airport is Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), a Delta hub with extensive domestic and international connections. The drive from DTW to Ann Arbor takes 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Michigan Flyer, a shuttle bus service, runs between the airport and Ann Arbor with multiple daily departures.

Amtrak serves Ann Arbor station on the Wolverine line, which runs three times daily in each direction between Chicago and Pontiac (via Detroit). The ride from Chicago takes about four hours and is a pleasant alternative to driving. The station is on Depot Street in the Kerrytown neighborhood, within walking distance of downtown.

By car, Ann Arbor is accessible via I-94 (east-west) and US-23 (north-south). Driving from Detroit takes about 45 minutes; from Chicago, roughly four and a half hours; from Toledo, about an hour.
