The Old Miami is a Cass Corridor institution: a dim, scruffy, deeply loved dive bar that opened in 1979 as a hangout for Vietnam veterans (Miami stood for Missing in Action / Missing in Iraq). The walls are covered in military memorabilia, the jukebox is genuinely good, and the bartenders are unflappable. There's an unexpectedly large back garden with picnic tables and a fire pit.
Live music — punk, indie, blues — runs most weekends. Cash only most nights. This is a place to drink Pabst and play pool and end up in the back garden until close. The Cass Corridor around it has gentrified, but the Miami has not.
